This week, we enjoyed Art Day where we learned about the work of the artist Yayoi Kusama, who is famous for her dot artwork and was affectionately known in the art world as ‘The Princess of Polka Dots’. We explored her creative and expressive style and used it as inspiration for our own pieces. Everyone showed great imagination and enthusiasm, and the outcomes were wonderful.

Year 5 and 6 had a wonderful time at the Mercury Theatre on Wednesday. They enjoyed a fabulous performance of 'Mother Goose'. From the moment the curtains opened, everyone was fully involved- they sang along to the songs, joined in with the classic panto callouts, and laughed all the way through. The performers were brilliant, and our pupils interacted beautifully, showing great enthusiasm and behaviour throughout.
It was a wonderful afternoon filled with fun, excitement and plenty of Christmas magic!

This week in Year 6, we have been doing gymnastics and developing our skills. We practised a range of movements, including balances, rolls and sequences, and focused on improving our control, flexibility and strength. We worked both individually and in groups to create routines and support each other. The lessons were challenging and helped us build confidence as well as teamwork skills. It was lots of fun, but very tiring!

Year 6 had a wonderful trip to Duxford! We explored a range of incredible aircraft, stepping inside some of the planes and marvelling at the amazing engineering that makes them fly. In the Operations Room, we listened to a fascinating recreation of a conversation between pilots as they prepared to defend the country during wartime. We also learned about the many different items that have been parachuted to support soldiers and civilians. Despite the wet weather, everyone had a fantastic day full of learning and excitement!
