As you know, we try our hardest to keep you informed about what is going on in school. However, sending out paper letters is not always reliable due to them being mislaid, crumpled or lost to the depths of your child’s bag!
We are also increasingly aware of the environmental impact associated with printing and photocopying hundreds of letters every week. It is also costly and rather than the money being spent on paper and ink, we know that the money would be better spent on your child’s learning.
To help improve communication we have signed up to a service called SchoolPing, which is already used by hundreds of schools across the country to communicate with parents and carers.
SchoolPing is a free app which sends instant messages straight to your smartphone, wherever you are. If you do not have access to a smartphone, you can also receive messages via email or by logging in to your account on the web. Whether you're at work, at home or on the go, all you need is an internet connection to stay up to date with all of the school’s news.
The benefits of using SchoolPing:
- Complete consent / trip forms in seconds
- Messages will be delivered straight to your smartphone via the SchoolPing app
- Notifications will alert you to new messages, meaning you will never miss anything important
- It is free to download the SchoolPing app and it is available on iOS and Android
- Stay in the loop with an integrated calendar
- You choose how to view your messages, whether it’s on your phone, tablet or computer
- See those special school moments with photos, videos, sound clips and documents, all viewable within the app
To use SchoolPing and issue your welcome invites, we will require your email address. Please provide the name and email address for each contact you would like to receive SchoolPing messages to the school office at your earliest convenience.
Please be assured that SchoolPing is registered with the Data Protection Registrar and guarantees that all information provided by yourself will be kept private and will not be passed on to any other organisation.
We recognise that not all parents/ carers have access to a smartphone or email and so hard copies will still be available on request.
