This week we have enjoyed the sunshine, making the most of our wonderful outdoor space. As part of PE we prepared for Sports Day which took place on Thursday. We practised relay races, egg and spoon alongwith the three legged race. We all had a wonderful day taking part and although winning is not the most important thing a big well done goes to Donaldson house who came first.
In Science we carried out an experiment to discover how sound vibrates - we used a drum and a handful of rice and made a note of the result. We discovered that sound creates a vibration as when we hit the drum the pieces of rice began to move. .
In English we enjoyed creating our own book cover and blurb whilst in Maths we developed our calculator skills; we were amazed at how many words we could make on the calculator:) Why not try this at home yourself!

Rehearsals are now well underway for our end of year production of Madagascar, the children are doing a great job of learning their lines and the behind the scenes team are busy making props. In English we finished writing a guide and moved on to a quest story where our focus is including dialogue to move on the action.
The most exciting thing which happened this week has to be our Colour Run, where we were not only covered in colour powder but was drenched with water too! The best thing is that we were sponsored so we raised money while we had fun :)

So Half Term came and went and we're back with a bang! There was no time to waste as two thirds of Year 6 set off on their Residential trip to Bawdsey Manor while a third of the year group stayed back at school to enjoy a fabulous week of fun actviities.
We couldn't have had a better start to the second half of the Summer Term :)
You can find more photos of our trip to Bawdsey Manor in the Curriculum tab on the website under Bawdsey Manor.
