Summer 1

It has been a fantastic start to the summer term in Year 2. The children have arrived back full of motivation and excitement for their new topic, which is exploring 'Extraordinary Expeditions', as well as starting our new 'Talk for Writing' non-fiction unit, based on the Vampire Dragon, which the children have loved so far and are coming up with some great ideas based on the text. In Science, we are analysing the ideal conditions to keep plants alive, considering the elements required for a healthy growth, over the coming weeks we will observe our flowers grow, assessing the speed, in which they do so. In Art, we will be sketching plants, this week we discussed how to add detail to a sketch to make it more 'life-like', using dots, lines and swirls.
